iPhone 5 Release will NOT be streamed live!

According to 9to5Mac, according to Apples PR (Public Relations), Apple will not be streaming a live stream of tomorrows live Apple Media event. They told 9to5Mac that the best bet for people wanting to know more is just to "Apple.com" for all the details. See below for the full transcribed phone call:

AT&T Attacks Heavy Data Users!

As promised in AT&T's statement (see below) back in June, AT&T has started slowing down connection and data speeds for users in the top 5% of data usage using the Unlimited plan.

"One new measure is a step that may reduce the data throughput speed experienced by a very small minority of smartphone customers who are on unlimited plans – those whose extraordinary level of data usage puts them in the top 5 percent of our heaviest data users in a billing period. In fact, these customers on average use 12 times more data than the average of all other smartphone data customers. This step will not apply to our 15 million smartphone customers on a tiered data plan or the vast majority of smartphone customers who still have unlimited data plans.

Starting October 1, smartphone customers with unlimited data plans may experience reduced speeds once their usage in a billing cycle reaches the level that puts them among the top 5 percent of heaviest data users. These customers can still use unlimited data and their speeds will be restored with the start of the next billing cycle. Before you are affected, we will provide multiple notices, including a grace period." -AT&T, June 2011

This basically is bad for all heavy data users but also good for normal users, freeing up slower connections and stopping the "Data-hogs" from slowing down your connection. See below for picture:

64 GB iPhone 5?

According to 9to5Mac the iPhone 5 will come in "3 storage capacities". It might (still a rumor) have 16GB, 32GB, and a 64GB model. The current iPhone 4 is available only in 16GB and 32GB versions. But this still raises a question with the institution of the new cloud connecting capabilities, will users really want/need a 64GB iPhone 5? Or is this just a clever trick by apple to have buyers get the "middle" 32GB model instead of the 64GB one. See below for a picture by unwire.hk

AT&T iPhone 5 might have "4G" Services!

Originally leaked by Macotakara the iPhone 5 from AT&T is rumored to now have HSPA+ Support. Often defined as "4G" HSPA+, it actually isn't LTE 4G, it is actually closer to a "3.5G" according to MacRumors. Since Verizon doesn't have a similar service currently offered this will most likely be only for AT&T customers. But unfortunately it looks like we'll have to wait until the iPhone 6 for full 4G service. See picture by Macotakara below:

Apple confirms October 4th iPhone 5 Announcement

Apple officially announced today that there will be an Apple Media Event on October 4th at 10 AM located at Apple HQ in Cupertino California.

They released this with an interesting image depicting a 4 iphone apps indicating the time place etc. (see below). They also put the heading "Let's Talk iPhone" this indicates that they will be talking about the new iPhone 5 and a cheaper improved iPhone 4s. See the image they released below:

iPhone 5 will have a new feature called "Assistant"

9to5Mac just revealed that the iPhone 5 will come with a new feature called "Assistant". This feature will essentially upgrade the current ios 4's Voice Control feature. But the real hook for the iPhone 5 and this feature (details below) is it only works with the iPhone 5's alleged 1 Gig of RAM and therefore will not be offered in the ios 5, only on the iPhone itself. This new feature will offer a lot of customizable perks, See Below to read more.

DigiTimes Announces defect in Wintek Touch Screens may delay Iphone 5 launch.

DigiTimes has recently announced that due to a defect in Wintek touch screens, the iPhone 5 launch date might be delayed. Until now the iPhone 5 was allegedly due for release in October, but due to the new alleged defect in Wintek Screens the iPhone may have a postponed release date. Wintek produces 20-25% of the iPhone 5 touch screen panels according to DigiTimes, TPK holdings make up 60-65% and the remainder Chimei Innolux. Read what Wintek had to say about this below.

Today EA has announced that Madden NFL 12 will be released for Iphone and Ipad 2 tomorrow August 30th 2011.
