Apple confirms October 4th iPhone 5 Announcement

Apple officially announced today that there will be an Apple Media Event on October 4th at 10 AM located at Apple HQ in Cupertino California.

They released this with an interesting image depicting a 4 iphone apps indicating the time place etc. (see below). They also put the heading "Let's Talk iPhone" this indicates that they will be talking about the new iPhone 5 and a cheaper improved iPhone 4s. See the image they released below:

iPhone 5 will have a new feature called "Assistant"

9to5Mac just revealed that the iPhone 5 will come with a new feature called "Assistant". This feature will essentially upgrade the current ios 4's Voice Control feature. But the real hook for the iPhone 5 and this feature (details below) is it only works with the iPhone 5's alleged 1 Gig of RAM and therefore will not be offered in the ios 5, only on the iPhone itself. •  Activates by holding the home button for a few seconds
• Takes advantage of the 1 gig of RAM and dual core A5 processor

• Ask "How do i get to the nearest Wal-Mart" and GPS will instantly launch and give you directions
• Text to speech for Texting

DigiTimes Announces defect in Wintek Touch Screens may delay Iphone 5 launch.

DigiTimes has recently announced that due to a defect in Wintek touch screens, the iPhone 5 launch date might be delayed. Until now the iPhone 5 was allegedly due for release in October, but due to the new alleged defect in Wintek Screens the iPhone may have a postponed release date. Wintek produces 20-25% of the iPhone 5 touch screen panels according to DigiTimes, TPK holdings make up 60-65% and the remainder Chimei Innolux. Read what Wintek had to say about this below.
